#34 Episode: "Launching a Passion Project" with Guest Singer/Songwriter Ariyah Brynn

*BONUS ALERT - Ariyah Brynn performs her latest song LIVE during this episode!!!
One of my favorite things about doing what I do is getting to connect with people.
No matter how old we are, we all want to fulfill the plans that God has for us.
The challenge for many of us is knowing those plans and I don’t mean just the dream or idea, but also how to practically pursue our God-given dreams through goals and dated actions.

I am so proud of one of my students, who happens to be a recent high school graduate. This teen has been developing her God-given talents in music for years, but recently she took my FLIGHT course (see details below) and began to apply it to one specific God-given dream or what I like to call - Passion Project.
I watched her run with the course principles and I could not be prouder of her.

Listen in on how Ariyah Brynn used the principles in my book FLIGHT to launch her latest music video for her debut single "Dejvu"

#25 Episode: "How to Do What You Love to Do!" with Special Guests Emily Mercer & Van Hickman

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner today I wanted to encourage you to...
Do What You Love!
- So, what do you love to do?
For me I love it when my family are all in one room with no media on and we are laughing, mostly because of my husband, while we tell stories or share jokes together. I also love writing in my journal - it is so relaxing to me - after my Bible time, almost every morning, you can find me in my chair, in my bedroom, typing up a journal entry as I sip my hot tea. I also love to kick the soccer ball around with our aussiedoodle Tux - which is most certainly what He loves to do.

Recently, I asked two of my friends to share what they love to do and how they continue to do what they love.

Emily Mercer is a Biblical Counselor and longer time lover of prayer.
Van Hickman is a comedian and annoucner who developed a love for voice over work.

Both Emily and Van share inspirational and practical tips on how they continue to do what they love to...

#24 Episode "Stay Productive so You Can Do MORE of What you Love!"

Do you want to stay productive?
That is an interesting question, because if you see productivity as a HAVE to - a way in which you HAVE to get things done at HOME or WORK then staying productive does not seem like something that you want to spend time learning how to do more of.

But as a Christian if you look at your productivity as a way to maximize your time so that you can spend time with the people you care about and fulfill the plans God has for you - then staying productive will be something that you love to do - I call this kind of productivity - “enjoyable productivity!” - it is encouraging, energizing, and helps you get things done!

The best fuel for any productivity and especially for “enjoyable productivity” is to...
Know your "WHY!"
Let me break down "WHY" into 3 categories

1. WHY for tasks & chores
~ What is a task vs a chore
~ Link It Twice - Ask yourself twice “Why?”

2. WHY for projects...

#23 Episode "Name the Day! - Make Doing Chores Easier for Home & Office

Today’s episode is for Melissa and for all of the other “go-getters” out there!

Melissa is a soccer mom who helps a soccer organization in her community. But beyond her volunteer time in her community Melissa also takes care of her family, and helps her elderly parents. She home schools her children and manages her house. Melissa is like you and I - she is a “go-getter” - but even Melissa can become overwhelmed with home and office projects

I want to encourage Melissa and all of us that we can enjoy life while getting things done when we do not try to do it “ALL” at once. When we trade in B I G plate portion projects for “bite-sized” productivity we can make our “ALL” “small” which helps us to bENCOURAGEd Today!

Today, we are going to talk about one of my favorite Make Your ALL Small - “bite-sized” tips...Name the Day! - But before I begin let’s define what a Chore is.

~ Chores...

#22 Episode: "Make Your ALL Small - My #1 Approach to Getting ALL Things Done!"

We can overcomplicate what we need to accomplish. - Either we over do it or under do it. Either way it becomes complicated because we add or subtract from the very thing we are trying to complete. You know what I mean...

Remember that time when the garage needed cleaned? We all do - whether it was a garage, vehicle, office - pick a space. And more than likely it went one of these two ways:

1. Make your all STALL… You went to open the door to the garage and thought, “Where do I begin?” So you started moving things around, looked in boxes, looked at your watch, and said things like, “Who really needs a place to park their car? The car does not pay its’ portion of the mortgage. It does not deserve a roof.” The decision had been made - to live with the garage the way that it was, because it could STALL until another day.

2. Make your all TALL… You decided this was your next project, so you called a meeting with your family, the...

#21 Episode: "Do These FIVE Things to Finish What You Start" with Download

Starting something new is exciting - whether it be a new year, new job, new project, or a new habit. But new becomes old very quickly if we do not refresh ourselves throughout the process.

As Christians, this must involve us seeking God while applying practical disciplines that will help us finish what we begin. One of my favorite Scriptures encourages us to finish what we start...

“Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.”

~ 2 Cor. 8:11-12 NIV

HOW do we make sure that we “Now finish the work” that we have begun?

Let me encourage you to Do These 5 Things to Finish What You Start…

1.) Eliminate Distractions - make what used to be a distraction, a reward
2.) Focus on a Few - simplify by only working on a few habits or projects at a time
3.) No...
